Over the past year, Studium has been working closely with senior academicians, advisors,
former accreditors, and quality leaders across India to answer one fundamental question:
How can higher-education institutions measure quality in a way that is simple, unified,
and truly actionable?
Accreditations today — NAAC, NBA, AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA, NIRF, QS, THE and many
others — all define quality differently. Institutions often struggle with fragmentation, repetitive
work, and inconsistent definitions of “performance.
” What began as an internal research
study to help our partner institutions quickly grew into one of our most ambitious initiatives so
far.
The Outcome: A Unified 92-Metric Framework for Quality Assurance
After months of discussions, validations, benchmarking studies, and iterative refinement, we
have created a 92-metric master framework that brings together the core indicators used
across major national and global accreditation and ranking bodies.
This framework spans all the critical pillars of a modern higher-education institution,
including (but not limited to):
● Student success and outcomes (e.g., placement trends, higher-education
progression, enrollment diversity)
● Faculty strength & academic excellence (e.g., qualifications, research productivity,
experience profiles)
● Research, innovation & knowledge creation (e.g., publications, patents,
collaborations)
● Curriculum & learning design (e.g., credit structures, attainment tracking, course
innovation)
● Industry alignment (e.g., consulting, MDP/FDP, corporate partnerships)
● Institutional capabilities & global outlook
● Continuous improvement and feedback mechanismsThese categories form the foundation of the full metric set, from which institutions can derive insights, set targets, and track improvement.
To give you a small glimpse, here are a few sample metrics from the larger framework:
● Student Success Index
● Placement Percentage
● Percentage of PhD Faculty
● Publications per Faculty
● Percentage of Courses with High Attainment Levels
Target Setting metrics - Metric…
This is just a flavour — the complete framework is significantly deeper, more structured, and
tightly aligned with the core philosophies of both Indian and international accreditation
standards.
Why This Matters for Institutions
Every institution today is navigating multiple accreditations, rankings, audits, and
improvement cycles simultaneously. This leads to:
● Data overload
● Lack of standardization
● Difficulty in tracking real improvements
● Confusion around what “quality” truly means
Our 92-Metric Framework is designed to solve exactly this problem.
It acts as a quality compass, enabling leaders to:
● Benchmark themselves against best-in-class institutions
● Identify strengths & improvement areas quickly
● Plan accreditation journeys more strategically
● Drive evidence-based decision-making
● Build a continuous quality culture campus-wide
The Vision Behind the Framework
At Studium, we have always believed that quality should not feel like compliance. It
should feel like progress.
This framework represents our commitment to making quality assurance simpler, smarter,
and data-driven for every institution.
It is accreditation-neutral, transparent, academically validated, and built to evolve with future
requirements.
